The samples collected from the Pınarhisar district (Kırklareli, Turkey) were introduced as a new subspecies for scientific world. During the taxonomic revision of the Turkish Dianthus species, specimens collected from Bilecik, Seben (Bolu), and Nallıhan (Ankara) were discovered that represent a new species.
